‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, episode 9: Are we looking at singular storyline?

Jon Snow -If you remember back to “Blackwater,” “Game of Thrones” did something that they really have not done with basically any other episode over the course of this series: Focused primarily on one world and storyline, and pushed all of the others back for a week.

So is it possible that we could have that again for next week’s “The Watchers on the Wall”? Early indications are that this is definitely possible. Neil Marshall from “Blackwater” is back, and the only character who is mentioned directly in the press release is Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow.

In the end, we’re still struggling to figure out whether or not this is an episode that we can fully get behind or not. While relentless action and the Wildings vs. the Night’s Watch could be interesting, we worry that this could be a massacre. The Night’s Watch are unprepared for what is about to hit them, and Jon is going to have to do something truly awesome to get out of this alive. There is also the problem that we have long felt that Beyond the Wall lacked a certain buzz and excitement, largely because of the fact that the politics are more straightforward and so many of the characters similar to each other.

The silver lining in all this? We are probably going to get to see Jon and Ygritte together again for the first time since last season, but we cannot really imagine her being that happy to find him at Castle Black.

What do you want to see on this episode, and are you nervous at all for a story that focuses on what can at times be one of the show’s drearier storylines?
