‘The Bachelorette’ podcast: Talking Eric Hill segment, Boyz II Men with Jessa

With there being two episodes of “The Bachelorette” airing over two days, it was fair to say that we had a lot to discuss in this new edition of the CarterMatt Podcast. There were lighthearted moments, serious moments, and also ones that made us question the ridiculousness of the show.

Obviously, though, the tragic passing of Eric Hill in real life influenced last night’s episode heavily, and we spend a good chunk of the second half of this episode talking about that extensively. Was it handled in the right way, and would it have been nice if more of his charity work and life beyond the shown was highlighted? There are so many things to get into here, and some of it is difficult, but we (being Matt Carter and Jessa) do our best to tackle the majority of it.

Also, we also go through some of the other pressing topics now:

• The Boyz II Me group date, and how it may be one of the greatest things that the show has ever done.
• Whether or not Marquel is securing his spot as the next “Bachelor” already, or at least someone capable of appearing on another show.
• Some of the random dates in the episode, including the difficult one with Dylan and the oh-so-cheesy one with Andrew.
• Whether being called “Coach” can actually be a term of endearment.
• Who the current favorites are, and who could be a darkhorse to sneak into the group date portion of the competition.

In the end, it’s a pretty lively and also emotional discussion, and it’s one of the longest ones that we’ve ever done.
