ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7: When Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, the writers return to work

The latest -We know that there are many months ahead until the “Castle” season premiere (which will likely be in late September). We also know that the polarizing nature of the season 6 finale probably makes that wait seem a little bit longer than it otherwise would be.

If there is something we could do to make this wait seem a little bit smaller, though, it would be this: Reminding you that there will be things happening with the show pretty much all summer long from here on out, even if you don’t get an opportunity to see all of them. Productions sources online claim that Monday is going to be the first day back for the writers, which goes about in line with when the writers for many other network shows return to work. For example, the “Revenge” writers have been back at it for a few days now.

As for Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, and the rest of the cast? We’ve seen some specific dates out there around the middle of July, but we’ve learned that it is best to be flexible when predicting those times. Some shows have things change until the last minute; meanwhile, others like “Supernatural” choose to keep certain aspects of production hidden to prevent a frenzy of fans showing up at wherever they think the show will be filming. (This happens pretty regularly with “The Walking Dead” and “The Vampire Diaries” in Atlanta.)

Hopefully, the return of the writers to work means for us more opportunities to tease what will be coming in season 7. Obviously there is the cliffhanger about Richard Castle to get through, but after that there are questions about if the wedding with Beckett will happen at all. We also wrote recently about our hopes to see more of Lanie and Esposito, and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens there.
