ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6, episode 21 video: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and … Scrabble?
Did you ever wonder just what Castle and Beckett do when they are not at the precinct? As it turns out, they are not hitting the nightlife scene, attending museum openings, or watching reality shows. They have a different hobby: Scrabble! Whoever knew watching people play tile games could be so compelling?
The sneak peek below from Monday night’s “Castle” is so entertaining on a number of different levels. First of all, you have Rick as the ultimate competitor, completely refusing to submit defeat at all costs no matter how painful it may be for him to do so. Then, you also have Beckett trying at one point to get him to concede so that they can partake in some other activities, probably knowing full well that she was about to humiliate the mystery writer at something that should be his own game.
Yep, Stana Katic’s character got the kiss of death for any Scrabble opponent: Quixotic! There are few other words that could amass such a high score so quickly, but then again, we think so. We’re not as shrewd of a Scrabble player as either one of them. Castle leaves the game in a huff after this, saying that he just wants to be alone for a little while.
One other nice thing about this sneak peek is simply that it doesn’t contain the stereotypical “Castle and Beckett are interrupting doing something fun / personal with work.” That somehow seems to happen almost every time they do anything.
