‘Chicago Fire’ season 2 finale spoilers: Boss teases danger … and a wedding?

You have to give it “Chicago Fire” for really managing to mix things up when it comes to the way in which they plan on ending season 2. From one vantage point, you are getting the opportunity to see a tremendous amount of action and excitement, but then to go along with that, the finale will also contain something romantic. There’s a little something for everyone!

So the first teaser that we have to share right now is that there’s going to be a wedding at the end of this season! The twist? The characters trying the knot may not be who you think. This is according to executive producer Matt Olmstead’s comments per TV Guide, where he also had the following to say about the story:

“[Dick Wolf] said it was one of the best season finales he’s ever heard [pitched] … [There will be a health scare along with] a big call and characters might be in danger … We’re going out of this season with major jeopardy for the house.”

Is there any other way to end a network drama series? It is hard to really end with a sort of happiness and closure in mind, mostly because the fear that could go along with that is that many could just assume that everyone will have a happy ending and stop watching. Nobody when it comes to the folks at NBC wants to see that happen, especially since this is the rare show where you have something more riding on it beyond just the individual story. You’ve also got a spin-off in “Chicago PD” to think about at the same time.
