2014 Kids’ Choice Awards: Ariana Grande, ‘Sam & Cat,’ Selena Gomez among winners
The 2014 Kids’ Choice Awards typically chooses to honor shows that are very different than many others out there, but that makes sense. After all, you are dealing with an audience that is far and away different than the others. By and large, the people honored on the show Saturday were at least kid-friendly enough that they could appear on Nickelodeon to accept the award.
We’ll update this list a little bit later on in the night as more and more names are announced.
Favorite Funny Star – Kevin Hart.
Favorite Female Singer – Selena Gomez.
Favorite TV Actress – Ariana Grande.
Favorite TV Actor – Ross Lynch.
Favorite Song – “Story of My Life” from One Direction.
Favorite Male Buttkicker – Robert Downey Jr.
Favorite Animated Movie – “Frozen.”
Favorite Movie Actor – Adam Sandler. These awards shows continually prove that Sandler does still very much have a target audience.
There was also a special Lifetime Achievement Award handed down at the end of the night to Dan Schneider, a name who is probably more significant to us than many of the kids in the audience. This is basically the man who has carried a whole army of hits from “Kenan & Kel” to “All That” to “The Amanda Show.” Given that Kel Mitchell was basically our childhood hero, seeing him on Nickelodeon again after so many years brought an enormous smile to our face.
