‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Paul Wesley’s favorite scene as director revealed

The latest -Last night’s episode of “The Vampire Diaries” was the final chapter for a few weeks, but you better believe that when the show does return to The CW in April, it will do so with a crazy hour of television. Paul Wesley directed “Resident Evil,” which will further along the story of the Travelers and their leader Markos. Not only that, but hopefully it will allow some stability for Elena now that she has found her way back to Whitmore.

But is there any one part of this experience that Wesley enjoyed doing the most? The actor was asked this very question in a recent E! News interview, and he was able to conjure up the following response without giving too much away:

“There’s a scene between Matt and someone else that I can’t name and there’s a whole sequence and it’s a beautiful sequence … It’s very action-packed. I really enjoyed it.”

We very much enjoy the thought of it, mostly because Matt’s great story pretty early on this year has slowly diminished into more and more of a whimper. This makes us sad … very sad. We feel like it is still very interesting for him to be the only human on the show surrounded by supernatural creatures, and there is so much more we could see from his life. (If we were in the writers’ room, we would just pitch a day-in-the-life episode where you get to see just what Matt goes through from start to finish. It could be very interesting, and a nice change of pace from the rest of the show.)
