‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 notes: Showrunners sign new deal; new Emilia Clarke video

Dany -There are a variety of different “Game of Thrones” headlines that could be discussed right now (thank the show’s elaborate promotional tour for that), but for this story, we want to focus on two that are extremely significant to the show’s present and also its future.

A new deal – We begin with the news coming out from Entertainment Weekly today that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have inked a new contract that will allow them to stay on board the series for two more seasons. This allows HBO to know for sure that there will be stability probably the entire way through for the show at what is the most integral position. These two have done a shrewd job keeping the integrity of the George R.R. Martin books intact; even when there have been the small changes here and there, they have been done with the best interest of the series at heart.

After the end of season 6, there will likely be negotiations all across the board for another year. The series is expected to last around seven seasons, and most actors in the world of TV traditionally sign on for the first six years when they join a series at the beginning. Sometimes, this can cause problems when it comes to salaries or people wanting to do other things … but we really don’t think it will happen here. In the end, the great thing about this show is that it is wonderful exposure that only takes up a fraction of the year. The cast can do this and still do other good stuff.

Speaking of the cast – A new video from HBO Adria does a good job of showing off some more of the locations that the show is using this year in Croatia, and it also includes interviews with the likes of Emilia Clarke, Iain Glen, Peter Dinklage, and more.

It is exciting to us here mostly in that you get a chance to see Clarke’s Danaerys actually film in a different climate again. She has spent, after all, so much of her time as of late in Morocco.

This is one of many interviews featuring Clarke out there, as she also recently sat down for a “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” chat.
