‘The Bachelor’ review: Juan Pablo Galavis, Andi Dorgman’s fantasy suite fight
The new episode of “The Bachelor” Tuesday night was a long time coming, and it was also stuffed full of most of the stuff you expected. A ton of kisses, superficial babbling between various subjects, and beautiful shots of St. Lucia filled the majority of the two hours. Then, there was Andi Dorfman laying the smackdown on Juan Pablo Galavis over some of his BS this season.
What we really got from Andi’s conversation with him tonight is that this is a guy who may want to be “The Bachelor” and have the fame that comes with it, but he’s really not that interested in the process. Either he doesn’t take the whole experience seriously, or he just is so transfixed on Clare Crawley and Nikki Ferrell that he didn’t really ever get invested in anyone else. He’s just so completely oblivious as to how everyone around him feels, and then there are moments where the language barrier comes across as a bit of a crutch.
Maybe Juan Pablo will be happy after this show with whoever he picks, but throughout this it just feels like it’s easy to tell why he is single. If you can’t get deep and have real conversations with people, it’s hard to have a relationship regardless of what your abs look like.
As entertaining as this part of the episode was, the truth of the matter is that unfortunately, they only constituted a good 20 or so minutes … and the rest was fluff. It was also obvious that Clare and Nikki were the final two, and there’s not that much with them to look forward to until the show comes back on with the finale in two weeks. Until then, we’ll just wait for the “Women Tell All” special. Grade: C+.
