‘Doctor Who’ season 8 spoilers: Another director added to the fold

The latest -Given that there are not too many updates out there about “Doctor Who” season 8 at the moment, save for some of the stuff that really should remain under wraps, we are pleased to bring you something today that comes from a world that many find to be very important: Directors. They’re obviously essential to the show getting made, but there are also some that fans prefer more than others.

Who we are here to talk about today is actually someone who is new to the long-running BBC franchise. According to Doctor Who TV, Paul Wilmshurst  is set to do at least one installment of “Doctor Who” season 8. He has on his resume already shows like “Strike Back” and “Da Vinci’s Demons,” which is important to us in that they are shows that stray a little bit off of the beaten path. He does something creative, and we always do appreciate that if there is a new face, they have a little bit of experience in some sort of interesting programming.

The other reported directors on the season right now include Ben Wheatey, Douglas Mackinnon and Paul Murphy, with Wheatey specifically having the challenge of ushering in the Peter Capaldi era. That is where the greatest amount of pressure will inevitably be, given that just one little mistake could have fans breathing down your neck for some time. Given that Matt Smith was so likable as the 11th Doctor, the pressure is on for the 12th to deliver on the same exact level.
