‘Bones’ season 9, episode 16 preview: What we know about ‘The Source in the Sludge’
Did you enjoy Friday night’s “Bones” season 9 episode? Let’s hope so, mostly because you are not going to be seeing any more of it for a while.
In what seems to be a pretty preemptive move by the show to try to avoid the massive competition from the Olympics (which is even worse on Friday nights, given that the pool of potential viewers on this night is small as it is), Fox is taking the show off the air for the entirety of the Sochi games. Instead, they will wait until Friday, February 28 to come back on with a new episode with the title of “The Source in the Sludge.”
Unfortunately, there is not too much else known about this episode just yet, and there are a couple of reasons for that.
1. Production – “Bones” behind the scenes may need to take a little bit of time now to get far ahead again when it comes to the shooting process, since it is not like they can make a new episode and get it ready to air in precisely one week of time. There’s a reason why they start many months before September.
2. Promotion – If they were to give you a ton of scoop now about what is going to be coming up for this episode, you’d possibly forget about it by the time it actually airs. You are going to hear more about this story, but it will be a little ways down the road. February 28 is not long after the Olympics, but it is at least long enough that there will be some time in order to promote it.
