‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Photos of Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, ‘The Purge’

While we have no idea at the moment if “The Purge” is going to be our favorite episode of “Supernatural” season 9, we can at least say for the time being that it has some of our favorite promotional photos of the entire season. This looks completely silly from start to finish, since we have Sam and Dean going undercover at what appears to be some sort of gym retreat, hoping to figure out what is causing so many of the attendees to end up losing weight and dangerous levels and with dire consequences.

The pictures here are of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles playing their characters undercover, and the two picked roles that really couldn’t be more different. Dean looks like a lunch lady, but may have more access to things behind the scenes thanks to his uniform and his responsibility.

Meanwhile, Sam seems to be dealing with the clients on much more of a one-on-one level. This photo clearly wins for the out-of-context shot of the week, and for so many reasons. For one, when are you going see Sam in this outfit again the rest of the season? If you answered that question with “probably never,” you win a gold star.

All in all, there isn’t anything in the photos that suggests that this is going to be a story that has anything to do with the rest of the season. Then again, we’re ultimately okay with that so long as the rest of the story is great.
