Ok so who is CBS to say what the older crowds would like in comedies. I’m 53 and I watched this and immediately began searching to see if there were anymore plans for this show. I would definitely watch this if they were to make a series out of it. Maybe if they would have let everyone watch the show before passing on it, then maybe the would have found that this could be a huge hit for all ages.

To be honest, I didn’t really care much for Rupert during the HP reign. But after they ended and the media started to focus positive energy on Dan and Emma, particularly Emma, and virtually ignore or be rude about Rupert, I looked into his non-Potter work and started to follow news on him (I have a thing for underdogs). He’s really impressed me. I saw CBGB last week and his American accent was spot on. He embodied Cheetah Chrome. And I just watched Super Clyde. His accent wasn’t as flawless as in CBGB (sometimes he sounded on point, sometimes he sounded awkward – although his character Clyde is shy and awkward). But I saw him as Clyde. And Stephen Fry and Tyler Labine were great as well. The show could have had a lot of potential.

In reply to Guest. I don't think this has happened. Considering that the CBS comedies (and all new comedies in general) is being panned by critics and are have below expectation ratings, maybe CBS is scoping the viewership to see the interest in Super Clyde. It begs the question, why give the go ahead to same-old comedies when they had the perfect opportunity to tap into a new demographic with a smart comedy which had heart (from reports by the test audience).

I was quite disappointed when CBS chose to go for safe ‘comedies’ like We Are Men, The Millers, Mom and The Crazy Ones, which by all reports are being panned by critics and the ratings aren’t great. It would have been good for CBS to take a risk with a show like Super Clyde, perhaps if the show gets huge traffic online then CBS will see that the audience is not stupid and would like to watch something different. These mindless, soulless and lazy comedies that rely on a laugh track and crude humour is an insult to our intelligence.

Going to LOL at CBS if the pilot is really good and it gets a lot of online traffic, maybe then CBS will learn to take risks. Good to hear that the cast has other stuff going on though. You snooze you lose CBS.
