Interesting. Well, I think most people are angry because the country artists left were never the best in the entire competition. Also, iTunes voting skews up the votes and automatically favors country artists. I was particularly angry about Tate Stevens winning over Carly Rose Sonenclar on the X Factor because she had superior talent. As much as I like Usher and Shakira, some kind of balance might be restored when Cee Lo and Christina return. And perhaps, The Voice might need to get rid of Blake Shelton, so, there’s no established country voting pattern.

Of course country music fans have a ton of power! Not just on The Voice. Tate Stevens won the X-Factor. Two of the five finalists on American Idol including the runner-up (Kree Harrison/Janelle Arthur) are country artists.

Yes, The Voice, in particular, is a place where aspiring country singers can thrive. But, this is by design. One of the four coach chairs has been filled by a country singer since day one. Moreover, it has been filled by Blake Shelton, an apparently popular country artist who is unashamedly biased toward country singers. Shelton brings millions of country music fans to the show every week, and The Voice producers love it!

The fact that country music fans have a lot of voting power should come as a surprise to no one. But, does it guarantee that a country singer will win The Voice this year? Not if the fans of Michelle Chamuel have anything to say about it. But, Michelle’s (and Sasha’s) supporters will have to vote and buy iTunes to make it go their way. Whining won’t win.

For the record, and before you criticize me for the wrong reasons, I am NOT a country music fan, per se. The only country songs I like are by ‘country’ artists who cross over into Pop so frequently that most country music fans don’t consider them country music artists at all. My iPod has more Shakira than Maroon 5, and neither Usher nor Blake Shelton. I like Avril Lavigne, Amy Lee (Evanescence), and others of that edgy Pop ilk including, hopefully, Cassadee Pope — unless she turns too ‘country’ for my tastes. I voted for Angie Miller and Carly Rose Sonenclar. Now you know.

The Voice 2013, has been great, focused, great judges with appropriate connection and interaction. Quality training with each having like Scheryl Crow to work with them.

Now about Adam’s reaction, I think a lot of people were shocked and disappointed for Judith Hill. I was! Adam and all the work, sharing emotions, I see how an episode could happen and gone as soon as it came. Country is not what the show is about. Music has life of its own and usually moves with the moods of the time. 2012 into this year 2013 and forward mood is “Bring me Home”, Can’t Find Our Way Home” survive to have home. storms, bombs, killing, children killing children and mom’s killing their “babes”. make your own list. Country is the soul of becoming our own, the melting pot.

Daniele is the ONE, she brings us home. She has so many youthful assets, but she has THE VOICE and all that goes with it. A true STAR with a great coach and a purpose.
