I struggle with what’s right — there’s a part of me that wants to see them go so far back that there’s more flexibility creativity, but then there is stuff like Robert’s Rebellion that has such clear interest in it.

Then maybe Aegon’s Conquest. They should also make Allfather Saga into a TV show. That one is by C.K. Sheldon and the main characters talk about Game of Thrones and will blow your mind.
One last idea would be either Lann the Clever, who was the first Lannister that scammed his way to owning Casterly Rock, or the war between the First Men and the Children.
