It's not possible, I thought the almost 9 hour train trip down to London and back would leave no time for murdering anyone. He takes the 4 hour 20 minute trip down. Finds Mr. Green, in a city of almost 10 million, who apparently was worried that Bates would be looking for him, pushes him in the way of an oncoming truck on a crowded street with nobody noticing and no argument from green, turns around gets on the next train back up all in one day?

People are postulating that the reason the show's ratings have dropped is because fans of Bates, Molesley and Edith are jumping ship thanks to Fellowes admitting he writes these characters to have only bad things happen to them.

I'm more annoyed than Julian Fellowes is setting up a stupid misunderstanding, storyline for when Bates find the contraceptives. He's only good at writing couples going through courtship and then breaking up. He won't write a positive storyline for the Bateses. It's is lame.

I am hoping Bates did not kill Green. Of course he was angry and wanted to get justice and honor for Anna but when he "brooded" about it, he realized how hard Anna was trying to protect him by not telling him and trying to deal with it herself because she loves him. But, he had to have realized she was in near panic for fear he would do something that would take him from her forever. I think Bates may have started an investigation, maybe hired someone to check into Green and his past. But Bates knew if he did anything violent himself and got caught that he would be hanged. Not only would Anna be devastated emotionally, but most likely, her professional life would also be in ruin. I do not think he would risk her future and theirs together. By the way, if there are to be consequences for immoral actions, why does Thomas always get away with mean things?
