I often wonder why MW sticks around too. I guess he’s a loyal person and the money is great, but his character is always the one sacrificed when they decide to focus on and flatter another character – generally Gibbs or – Ziva, in the past, and now Ellie. I don’t get the feeling that MW has any problem at all when he gets to do “real acting”. It’s just that those types of moments always go to MH now. To me, it’s as if they don’t want to give MW anything that might flatter the character. He simply can’t be written as EVER outshining GIbbs. In the early seasons we got to see uber competent Tony and tptb didn’t seem to see it as a threat to Gibbs, but now it’s quite obvious from the writing that Tony may not in any way shape or form, be seen as anything but a way to allow Gibbs to shine by comparison. Now with Ellie as Gibbs go to agent, I fear Tony’s script will consist of the character clicking the clicker, making the movie reference, following two steps behind Gibbs, and standing by uselessly as GIbbs and/or Ellie solve the case.

That was one of the things people hated about the character Ziva, some thought she was pushing the rest of the team out, now same thing happening again with Bishop, their is a lot of discord with Bishop as their was with Ziva, but I know which one I would rather watch and it’s not Bishop.

I do agree with you Derek – maybe MW is happy with his ‘lighter’ role because the writing is just simply making Bishop look stupid – he is well away from that wreck !

It used to be the Team hour, now it is Gibbs/Bishop and there is no team. I just want Tony and McGee back.

I am with you on this. I like Ellie/Emily but I LOVE Tony/Michael and I want to see Gibbs and Tony be the heroes. We need more of the smart, brave,always have your back TONY!
