‘How I Met Your Mother’ series finale being written now; cue the memories
The next two months are going to be some pretty emotional ones for fans of “How I Met Your Mother.” After all, this is the time in which we will start to have to see the series reach its inevitable conclusion, and the March 31 series finale is going to hopefully tie everything together that we’ve been long hoping to see.
As we are writing this right now, this finale is actually being written. This is at least what show co-creator Craig Thomas wrote recently on his Twitter account in what is news that has us very much excited. This is probably the very beginning of what is going to be a very emotional process all the way through for production. Every little section of it, from the last writing session to the last table read to of course the last filming, is going to bring with it its own collective sort of memories. The last filming period will probably be the most emotional moment for the fans of the show, mostly because they are the ones who have had to be there and experience the whole story in person.
As for us sitting at home, we’re awaiting eagerly the chance to get emotional, celebrate, and laugh at what the series has to offer us in the end. There is a lot to look forward to, since you are dealing with nine seasons’ worth of loose ends, inside jokes, and of course that moment where Ted finally meets the Mother. There’s an enormous sense of history there.
