Mrs Carter: James wants to keep the wedding simple.
We have seen the effects that some lavish Hollywood weddings have had on celebrity relationships, so when we heard that ‘American Idol’ contestant James Durbin was looking to keep his wedding small and simple, we were happy to hear it.
Durbin and his fiancée, Heidi Lowe, have stood by each others sides through everything including James’ ‘American Idol’ experience and although Durbin has been very busy recording his new album ‘Memories of a Beautiful Disaster’, he has made sure he has time for wedding planning. He said;
“I’m so, so in love. It’s going to be a very small wedding. We’re only inviting about 85 people.”
Durbin and Lowe are set to wed later this year and they say that they are trying to keep the wedding inexpensive as they want to stay away from a “Hollywood” type of ceremony. He said;
“We’re going cheap. We’re not doing a full-on Hollywood lavish wedding. We’re getting married in the boondock mountains at a community hall. We rented out a tiny tiny little chapel, all exposed red wood. It’s nothing super fancy.”
Durbin has invited some of his fellow ‘Idol’ friends to be in his wedding party. Stefano Langone will be his best man and Paul McDonald, who recently wed ‘Twilight’ star Nikki Reed, will serve as a groomsman. James and Heidi’s son Hunter, will be the ring bearer. While most of the planning is complete, James says he is still trying to figure out what he will be wearing on the big day. He said;
“It’s going great. We got our decorations and everything set. We got the cake squared away, and she’s got her dress. It’s a little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n’ roll. She’s a cowgirl, and I’m a rock star. Some of the decorations will be cowboy boots.”
So will James be performing at the wedding? He said;
“You might find me singing. There are a couple of songs I used to sing to Heidi. ‘Faithfully’ by Journey and ‘One More Try’ by George Michael. And she always loves it when I sing ‘Take Hold of the Flame’ by Queensryche, so we may have to throw that in there as well.”
Durbin’s new album ‘Memories of a Beautiful Disaster’ will be hitting store shelves on November 21.
