‘Saturday Night Live’: Danny DeVito joins Charlie Day during monologue

How was the episode?

If you are a fan of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” then in many ways this weekend’s edition of “Saturday Night Live” may have been the perfect way to make your weekend that much more … well, sunnier. Not only was Charlie Day on board as the show’s host, but we also had a special appearance be none other than Danny DeVito basically playing himself trying to encourage Charlie to be more over-the-top with the gig.

In many ways, the sketch felt just like something we would see on “Sunny” itself, complete with some random pandemonium in the end as the bit culminated in a musical number (something that often happens during these opening “monologues”).

Really, who didn’t love seeing Charlie play both the harmonica and the piano at the same time? It was a nice way for the guy to show off some of his talent — which he did later in the episode courtesy of some random sketches about Dr. Oz and emotional dolphins.

What di you think of Charlie’s show overall? Check back early Sunday for video content!
