Mrs Carter: Ex-boyfriends are ‘exes’ for a reason, but Adele is ready for round two with hers
If you listen to the lyrics in many of Adele’s songs you understand the deep heartbreak and regret the singer has been going through when it comes to her past relationships. She really wears her heart on her sleeve.
After a devastating breakup from her former love, Adele turned that sadness into a massively successful music career with the release of her album ‘21’. Regardless of the fame, money and numerous awards, the one thing she is missing in her life is her ex-boyfriend to share it all with. She said;
“It’s bittersweet because I wouldn’t give up this success for anything. But at the same time, I’d do anything to be with him. I miss him. I do. It’s hard singing all these songs because it makes me remember how brilliant we were when we were good … and how tragic it was when we were bad. Even now, I get emotional performing that [song ‘Someone Like You’]. It was such an honest thing to write.”
Adele admits that even though she has felt love in her life she has never been able to say the words to the man she loves. She said;
“It’s hard to share feelings. I’ve felt them. I just can’t say them. God, if I find happiness what will I write about!”
Do you think that ex-boyfriends should be left in the past or do you think that if the timing was wrong that there is a way to make it work in the future? Leave us your thoughts.
