Rihanna dethrones Adele on Billboard Hot 100; Coldplay leads albums

In this week’s update when it comes to the Billboard charts, it’s all about one person when it comes to individual songs — Rihanna.

Like so many lead singles before it, “We Found Love” (featuring Calvin Harris) has managed to find its way to the #1 spot in a remarkably short amount of time — on this very occasion, six weeks. It dethrones Adele’s “Someone Like You,” who has reigned supreme on the chart for most of the month.

Meanwhile, when it comes to album sales Coldplay easily took the #1 spot courtesy of their new album “Mylo Xyloto” — which sold more than 440,000 copies. This is the third-largest debut of the year behind Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” and Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter IV.” For those curious, Kelly Clarkson debuted her new disc “Stronger” at #4, selling around 160,000 copies.

Are you happy for Rihanna making it to this milestone?
