Mrs. Carter: It’s clearly been a busy time for Jennifer Love Hewitt!
The former star of Lifetime’s now-canceled “The Client List” has been rather quiet as of late, and we are now discovering one of the reasons why following the announcement that not only has she and her onetime co-star Brian Hallisay gotten married, but the two have also welcomed a new addition to their family in a baby girl. A rep for the actress confirms the news on both fronts, and then reveals the (wait for it) name: Autumn James Hallisay.
Let’s start with the good news: Autumn is an absolutely perfect name for a girl, in that it’s just different enough to not make her a target for bullies at school on a daily basis. But James? Really? This continues along that bizarre tradition of celebrities giving girls names typically reserved for boys, and while they are certainly able to do what they want, this is not exactly something that we would do if we were in their shoes. It just makes it a little bit easier for them to be potentially picked on down the line , and nobody really wants that. Then again, at least this is the middle name, and that’s a step up from Jessica Simpson naming her daughter “Maxwell.”
The future of Hewitt on TV for the time being is a little bit unclear now thanks to what is the surprising end to her Lifetime series. A matter of just a few weeks ago, it seemed to be much more assured that “The Client List” was going to be coming back on the air. However, the show eventually ran into some major creative roadblocks between Hewitt and the other producers over the direction of the story, and either Lifetime decided that the ratings were not good enough, or that the story in the end just wasn’t worth the trouble.
But for the time being, let’s congratulate Hewitt both on her marriage (which was conducted in secret) and her new little girl!
