‘The Bachelor’: Former star Ben Flajnik goes after media for false Kris Jenner rumors

Ben Flajnik -Mrs. Carter: Why are the tabloids so eager to hook up Ben Flajnik and Kris Jenner?

For whatever reason, Us Weekly is the latest publication to target the former star of “The Bachelor” for claims that he and Kim Kardashian’s mom / manager are having some sort of fling together following her divorce from Bruce Jenner, with them trying to make some extra-scandalous headlines out of the fact that she is substantially older than the 31-year old Flajnik at 59 .

It always amazes us that older men can date women 30 years younger and no one bats an eye, but when a woman does it she gets stuck with labels like “cougar” and it’s some big scandal. It’s 2013 people! Time for the sexist double standards to end already… sheesh.

The only real obvious connection between the two parties seems to be that they know each other, as they are both involved in the wine industry to a certain extent. Ben took to his Twitter account not long after the rumors first started, and offered up the following to say as a response:

“Here we go again. Hey @usweekly maybe put a call into me once and a while for some fact checking. Sincerely, #TheTruth”

Meanwhile, neither Jenner nor any other member of the Kardashian family has spoken out about the rumors yet, though the tabloid alleged that many of Kris’ daughters were aware of the fling and did not really have much of a problem with it.

Ben is still known as one of the more disappointing stars of “The Bachelor” as he ended up becoming engaged to the controversial Courtney Robertson who pretty much ever viewer hated. The two have since broken up, and she has gone on to start work on some sort of tell-all about her life (because she thinks people still care about her). Meanwhile, Ben has remained mostly out of the public eye, outside of being targeted for assorted dating rumors here and there. Ben is the last star of the show whose season did not end up leading to another one starring one of his contestants; rather than one of his ladies becoming the next “Bachelorette,” the choice was made instead to feature Emily Maynard following the end of her relationship with Brad Womack.
