Mrs. Carter: Kelly Clarkson is speaking out about her pregnancy… curious to know what she’s saying?
For the first time since the news first broke about the “American Idol” winner being pregnant with her first child with husband Brandon Blackstock, she sat down for a full interview on “The Today Show” Tuesday morning. This was an opportunity for her to discuss what the past few weeks have been like, and a simple word to describe it is “crazy.” Kelly says that first of all, the timing of her announcement had to do largely with the fact that she was having to pull out of some gigs thanks to feeling sick, and she didn’t one anyone to think that she was canceling gigs willy-nilly and depriving fans of something that they have been looking forward to see for quite a long time. Kelly also joked that she doesn’t know why “morning sickness” is called that, since she really feels sick the vast majority of the time.
In addition to the interview about her pregnancy and her recent wedding to Blackstock, we’ve also enclosed a performance of “Underneath the Tree” from her album “Wrapped in Red,” which you can pick up just in time for the holiday season. This is the first full Christmas album released by Kelly, and when you consider her talent, you would think that she would have put one out long before now.
Kelly also has an upcoming Christmas special airing on NBC on Wednesday, December 11, and it is certainly interesting that the former star of “American Idol” has actually received more support lately from a network other than Fox with her career. Her special comes after some other performers with connections to “The Voice” in Blake Shelton and Michael Buble have also has Christmas specials for the network. (Kelly has been an adviser to Blake and his team in past seasons, as has Buble.)
