‘Glee’ season 5 song spoilers: Hear Adam Lambert, Darren Criss, and more sing ‘The Fox’

Puppets -In the latest example of “Glee” completely ignoring that they are actually set five months before present-day, the show has decided to make their entire cast perform a song that was not even online back in May. Maybe someone on the cast is a time-traveler, or one of them is really a version of The Doctor from “Doctor who” lost deep within the timeline.

Really, this is probably not something that Ryan Murphy and company probably really want us complaining about, but it’s a personal pet peeve since “Glee” at least used to not make us suspend belief this much. It’s also weird that for a song that you’re going to break the timeline to perform, it’s “The Fox” by Yivis. What relevance does this song have to anything?

Given that this episode is entitled “Puppet Master,” and we’re dealing with puppets, our basic understanding is that it makes sense to have them perform what is a pretty silly song. Therefore, that is entirely what we’re going to get from this here. It is also going to feature pretty much the entire cast, whether it be Adam Lambert, Darren Criss, Lea Michele, Naya Rivera, and many more. It’s a pretty spot-on recreation of the original, including all the shrill, high-pitched fox noises.

In the end, this is a performance that you really can’t take too seriously, just like we really expect this episode to be a pretty uneventful one save for getting to see Adam and Demi Lovato again. Given that it’s airing on Thanksgiving, we can’t imagine that they are going to be doing anything to push forward the story very much, mostly because we don’t know how many people are actually going to be watching it. The show we really feel bad for is “The X Factor,” which is forcing the likes of Kelly Rowland and Demi to work on Thanksgiving, when they’d probably prefer to be off enjoying turkey somewhere.
