Charlie Sheen taking his ‘Anger Management’ to FX

Coming in 2012…

After weeks and weeks of us wondering who exactly was going to be the new network home of Charlie Sheen, we now know — and the former “Two and a Half Men” star is heading to cable.

Sheen has signed on to have a test run of ten “Anger Management” episodes air on FX — and if it makes it past a certain ratings threshold, an addition 90 (!) episodes will be renewed. This is a strategy that TBS and some other networks have employed in the past with their original shows, so it will of course be interesting to see how it works here (especially since other comedies on FX, like “Louie,” are not done in such a way.).

This project is an adaptation of the movie of the same name starring Jack Nicholson, and Sheen is set to step into the role of the therapist with plenty of problems of his own.

Do you think this show will be a success? We will be waiting until 2012 before we find out.
