It doesn’t seem to matter how many weeks pass since Adele first released her album “21” — the disc continues to dominate the sales charts.
In the new edition of the Billboard 200, Adele (who has had #1 singles in America in “Someone Like You” and “Rolling in the Deep”) sold an additional 106,000 copies of “21” in the past week — enough for her to beat Christian group Casting Crowns, who sold just under 100,000 copies of its new release “Come To the Wall.”
Just to show how impressive Adele’s accomplishments are at the moment, here are some interesting facts. With 4.1 million copies in total sold, she easily has the top-selling album of the entire year. (Lady Gaga is in second place, as her “Born This Way” has sold 1.9 million copies.) As for the 13 weeks she has topped the album chart, it’s the most since the soundtrack to “Titanic” spent 16 weeks in the position back in 1998.
How impressed are you by this feat?
