Amy Winehouse passed away from ‘over-consumption,’ per report

The results are in.

The Coroner has just released some long-awaited results pertaining to the tragic passing of Amy Winehouse earlier this year, and it appears that heavy drinking was the main contributing factor in her body being discovered lifeless.

In the hours before her passing, Winehouse consumed copious amounts of various drinks, and had more than four times the legal limit of alcohol in her.

In a statement, Winehouse’s family seems relieved to just know or sure what had happened (even though they were of the belief that the singer had been sober for a few weeks):

“It is some relief to finally find out what happened to Amy. ¬†We understand there was alcohol in her system when she passed away, it is likely a build up of alcohol in her system over a number of days.

“The court heard that Amy was battling hard to conquer her problems with alcohol and it is a source of great pain to us that she could not win in time. She had started drinking again that week after a period of abstinence.”
