‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Adam Lambert on ‘Starchild’ backstory, working with Chris Colfer’s Kurt

The latest -Very early this fall, we had first heard a word from Chris Colfer to describe Kurt Hummel’s relationship with Adam Lambert on “Glee” season 5: “Nemesis.” That was at the time a surprise, and it continued to be while various rumors came and went about what this character was going to be bringing to the show this year.

But, at the end of the day, this could still be where the story is going long-term, as Adam uses this word himself to hint at the future of his Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert character in the video below. We know already that Kurt is apprehensive about bringing this guy in to the band that he is forming, mostly because he believes that he is completely out of control and way more energetic than he really needs to be.

Adam also dishes some on how his Starchild character first auditions for the group, using his stage name and trying to be perhaps a little too desperate to make it. Clearly, Santana is all about the performance that he gives, and you get much of the same impression from Demi Lovato’s Dani, who is on stage rocking out with him. Kurt seems to be the only one who is somewhat hesitant, whether it is due to jealousy or some other concern that he may have.

There is also a little interesting fact in here about how Adam was actually someone who tried out for “Glee” prior to him making it on “American Idol,” feeling that the show matched some of his own musical roots. However, he was told at the time that he was too old to get by playing a high school student … which is somewhat ironic given that he and Mark Salling (Puck), who played a high schooler on the show the first three seasons, are the same age.

All in all, this is at least going to be a fun little arc for Adam, who will hopefully raise his profile doing this so that more attention is given to some future music releases.
