‘Glee’ season 5 song spoilers: Hear Adam Lambert sing Lady Gaga’s ‘Marry the Night’

The latest -We know that there are quite a few major Adam Lambert fans out there, and with that in mind, we also imagine that the reaction to this performance of “Marry the Night” from next Thursday’s “Glee” is going to be significant. This Lady Gaga hit is one that Adam has personally been a fan of for some time, and it also has to be the best song from the pop star’s catalog to take on for the show.

One reason as to why the song choice fits is that it is that sort of hybrid dance / pop / rock track that is right in Adam’s musical lane. It also has the musical range that he and few others can pull of, and it’s upbeat and passionate in the same way that you would expect his character of Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert to be. In the end, even someone who is not the biggest fan of Adam’s is going to have a hard time finding something to scoff at here.

In case you missed the context for this performance, it is the audition song for Starchild as he tries to find his way into the new “Madonna tribute group” that Kurt is putting together. This does not seemingly fulfill one of the major requirements since he’s not singing an actual Madonna song, though, and it’s especially interesting when you consider that Madonna and Lady Gaga don’t always have nicest things to say about each other. But, we don’t think that Starchild will be turned away from the group due to song choice. If Kurt decides that he does not want him as a part of the band, one of the primary reasons for that is going to be simply due to his own insecurities surrounding having that powerful and passionate a performer in the group, one that could even overshadow all of the other personalities that are there. (Just the image alone should give you an idea of just what we are looking at.)

This song comes out mere hours after there was a story claiming that “Glee” bosses are considering a full-time shift to New York City; if that happens, it could mean that there will be more chances for Adam to perform. For the time being, we at least know that he will be around for another episode beyond this one.
