ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3, episode 6 preview: Emily VanCamp, Gabriel Mann at odds
On Sunday night’s “Revenge” episode, we had an opportunity to see signs that Emily Thorne’s quest to take down the Grayson family was starting to head back in the right direction. Why? It was all a simple matter of control, and she was willing to open up a little part of herself in an effort to keep some much-needed people close to her. (Take, for example, her deciding to at least be somewhat-truthful to Daniel about the person that she is … without of course revealing anything.)
But is this by any means going to actually lead to Emily VanCamp’s character having everything together long-term? Hardly. As the synopsis for next week’s “Dissolution” proves, there is going to be conflict almost immediately courtesy of a few characters whose motivations are starting to conflict one another:
“Roadblocks seem to be mounting for Emily as Daniel’s attention is focused elsewhere, Grayson Manor may cease to exist, and two of the most important people in Emily’s life start turning on her — leading her to do something very uncharacteristic.”
As for why we could see Emily and Nolan in particular at odds, it seems to be thanks to the people that they want to keep close. Gabriel Mann’s character is starting to get close to Patrick, and he could want to protect him; meanwhile, Emily sees him as a man in the way and a possible Victoria ally. While she knows the truth supposedly about Patrick being responsible for trying to kill Conrad, we are not seeing her doing anything with that information just yet.
As for the trouble between Emily and Daniel, that is a little more ambiguous, but being where we are in the story right now, it seems more and more like he will be that groom on her wedding day a little more than a month from now. Not only that, but we also know some more information about what exactly the cruise ship is for.
