Cas is human for the first time.
The angels are possessing vessels thus they know all that the vessels know.
Cas could also be eating toothpaste because he doesn’t have a toothbrush, hell I do sometimes. Cas never swallowed the toothpaste.
Cas was cold, hungry, desperate, scared, betrayed, hurt, lustful and probably also felt the first traces of love with April (Im talking about the childish love, which children feel), but still a human emotion.
What more do you want in a 40 minute episode

I was disappointed that they did not utilize the humanizing of Cas as an opportunity to in fact humanize him. It seems like the same rigid performance. I don’t get why Cas is the only short bus angel. It totally doesn’t make sense that the rest of them are more worldly and he’s eating toothpaste?
