Out of everyone performing on “The X Factor” Saturday night in London, we have to imagine that Janet Devlin had the most difficult week. After the news broke about her grandfather’s passing, the singer made the difficult decision to go on stage and perform — largely thanks to some encouragement from her friend and family.
How did she do? Let’s just say it may very well be one of the bravest performances we’ve ever seen. Janet seemed to be more than a little uncomfortable being on stage after the performance — but not because she failed. Instead, she just seemed like she was on the verge of tears after performing “Can’t Help Following in Love with You,” and she couldn’t bear to choke up on stage.
At the end of the day, it seems like a given that the audience will vote Janet through based on emotion — and it also helps that she has a remarkable voice that is radio-friendly.
