Act surprised: Kim Kardashian engaged (again), this time to Kanye West

The latest -Mrs. Carter: Is Kim Kardashian now getting ready for her third “fairytale wedding”?

While it may not be made out to be the same sort of enormous deal as her previous engagement to Kris Humphries was, the news is still the same: Kanye West proposed to the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star on Monday, which is probably going to keep Kim in the headlines for a little while longer, much to the chagrin of many who just don’t see her as relevant anymore.

What this particular engagement proved to us simply is that Kanye is richer than a good majority of the world. According to TMZ, this proposal including flying Kim up to San Francisco for her birthday wearing a blindfold, renting out the stadium of the Giants baseball team, and then having an orchestra play Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” (one of Kim’s favorite songs) while the rapper popped the question. Of course, Kim said yes. Is this extravagant and over the top? It sure is, but at the same time this is something that usually only happens once in a life time (or three times if you’re Kim) and should be made to feel as special as it can be. Props to Kanye for taking this to new heights for his woman.

There’s no word on if any of this will be featured for Kim’s E! reality series, but we’re not as optimistic about it as we were for Kris Humphries since Kanye seems to have little interest in the show. Kim’s philosophy on showing off everything in her life has changed since welcoming her child North West into the world, and that is something that we are happy to see since we aren’t that excited to watch a baby being paraded around in exchange for cash. Kanye may not always love the press, but the Kardashian family has definitely been a fan of it.

“Keeping Up with the Kardashians” has been airing its most-recent season this fall on E!, and there will be more in the future, even if Kim figures out a way for the cameras to “keep up” with only a few certain parts of her life.
