Mrs. Carter: Has Kelly Clarkson followed the lead of one of her songs in “Tie It Up”?
While there were rumors all weekend long about the former “American Idol” winner getting married to her beau Brandon Blackstock, the two made it happen on Sunday in a small ceremony, which is something that she had long said she wanted more so than some sort of huge, extremely-lavish affair with paparazzi hiding in a bush. Kelly and her team had tried to keep the location of their ceremony a secret for that very reason, and it appears now that it at least succeeded enough for the two to marry without many stories about it cropping up until this morning. Originally, she and Blackstock were planning to have a much more elaborate ceremony, but they canceled it in favor of eloping.
Kelly was the one to confirm the news earlier today, as she posted a message on her Twitter account along with the attached photo:
“I’m officially Mrs. Blackstock :) We got married yesterday at Blackberry Farms in TN, the most beautiful place ever!”
In case you are not extremely familiar with Brandon, what you need to know is that he is the son of Narvel Blackstock, Kelly’s manager and a legend in the music world who is married to country giant Reba McEntire. He has two children from a previous relationship, and while they live with Kelly, she is interested in having more children.
Now that the wedding is over, Kelly is going to be charged soon with kickstarting a promotional tour for “Wrapped in Red,” her Christmas album that is going to have her performing all over America, and also even on her own Christmas special airing on NBC. In between this and Carrie Underwood’s live performance of “The Sound of Music,” it’s pretty clear that despite having their own singing competition in “The Voice,” the network has no problem getting some of its talent from Fox’s own reality giant.
