Stage collapse during ‘Resident Evil 5’ movie taping injures actors

There’s some trouble.

There was a bit of a scary situation that unfolded in Toronto this morning, as some actors and crew members behind the upcoming “Resident Evil 5” had to be taken to the hospital over some injuries they suffered during filming for the new installment of the film franchise.

The incident occurred at┬áCinespace Film Studios on Kipling Avenue when actors dressed as zombies had to cross a sound stage — unfortunately, it collapsed midway through their journey across. Overall, the Toronto Star is reporting that a dozen actors were moving across the stage, and that the collapse ended up injuring 16. Of these people, ten have been rushed to the hospital with various injuries. No one has suffered any life-threatening injuries.

The biggest challenge for paramedics arriving at the scene came when they had to distinguish between the fake blood and zombie makeup put on these actors and the actual injuries — which included some broken bones.

Stay tuned — we’ll have more on this story as it breaks.
