In one of the stranger stories we have heard in quite some time, it appears that there really is a hefty price tag on everything related to Justin Bieber — including when he changes his famous hairstyle.
In a new interview with CNN Money, Jay Foreman of toy maker The Bridge District revealed that he first found out about Bieber’s haircut during a conference — and it ended up costing the company $100,000 when they had to change their line of dolls in early 2011:
“I got everyone into a conference room and we looked at some images. We weren’t sure what he had done. Then it became obvious that his trademark was gone.”
These sort of products are part of a billion-dollar industry that produce countless products based around celebrities — and really what this story does execute is proof that the any small fluctuation in a star’s look or reputation can change everything.
Are you shocked that a change in Justin’s haircut can cost this much money to toymakers?
