At the beginning of 2011, former “Hannah Montana” star (and pop sensation) Miley Cyrus had spoken out about her desire to visit Haiti in order to conduct some charity work — and now, she is making good on that promise yet again. (She first made a trip in February of this year.)
This week, Miley has spent some time with her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth helping with the Starkey Foundation in the Caribbean country (which is still recovering from the terrible earthquakes that ravaged the area). During this trip, she actually met with the country’s president at the opening of the Lully Community School in Arcahaie. While Miley’s presence may not seem like a major deal at first glance, it provides a much-needed dose of positivity to those who need it most — in particularly children who grew up watching her on TV.
After spending most of 2010 directly in the spotlight, Miley has taken a bit more of a low-profile role as of late — opting to do some charity work while spending some time with Liam (whose upcoming film “The Hunger Games” comes out in March).
Are you happy to see Miley continuing to give back?
