I think this show has a problem executing female characters since they killed off Ellen and Jo. The female character in the last episode (I can’t even remember her name) was disgraceful and the writers should be ashamed of themselves for writing her in. They need to do a female character well for the fans to get on board with her. She needs to be not just be a strong female character but a strong character who happens to be female, that isn’t a bad guy (Abaddon is awesome – love her), that can keep up with the boys, isn’t a pit stop for some nookie on the side, and who doesn’t use her ass or sex to hunt monsters or get what she wants. Write a character like that and I think more fans will be inclined to not beg for her to be killed off. Give us a female to root for that’s worthy of being rooted for.

In reply to Anon. Absolutely agree with you. No chemistry between the two. She came off as a jerk. Had she been someone that he had chemistry with and maybe had they tried to look for Dean, if only her part being a phone call away from Sam as support, I think some of us would have felt differently. I wouldn't say that I absolutely loved Lisa but I definitely had more respect for her and Dean's relationship. But, in the end, when he knew Sam was back, what did he choose?

To be fair, I think most fans – and I have to include myself – “bitched” about Amelia not because she was a love interest but because she was poorly executed. First time she was introduced she come across as unsympathetic, so did she the second and third time until no one could understand what Sam saw in her aside from a fellow soldier hurt in battle. And for Sam to not have looked for his brother in the slightest because of her made the iceberg that sank Sam’s character for the first half season. It also didn’t help that, in my humble opinion, the actress and Jared had like no spark or chemistry going on between them.
Supernatural was never cut out to be a love triangle or any sorts of Vampire Diaries stuff. Thank Kripke for that. I think most fans are ok with the boys having some “fun” now and then – god knows they can use it. But where would a serious relationship on Supernatural end for the boys? One hunting from home, being picked up by his sibling like a work companion and aftward dropped of to his cozy and warm place again? I think that’ll be better left to the fanfic writers.
