While the past couple of weeks have been pretty contentious at the American box office, this weekend on the surface looks to be a cakewalk.
By the time Sunday rolls around, expect to see Hugh Jackman’s “Real Steel” sitting pretty at the #1 position with somewhere near $25 million for the weekend. However, this is still not far and away enough to make this movie a hit — it cost $110 million to make (a considerable total for an October release), and it is going to have to either hold on well or do solid business overseas.
As for the rest of the top three, expect to see George Clooney and Ryan Gosling’s new film “The Ides of March” grossing around $13 million, and with inspirational tale “Dolphin Tale” falling down to #3 after spending last weekend at the top.
Check back throughout the week, as we will have more updates along with totals from the box office.
