Mrs. Carter: It’s about to be much more difficult to keep up with the Kardashians.
After 22 years of marriage, and also rumors from over the summer that the two had gone their separate ways, Bruce and Kris Jenner confirmed today that they have now separated, and their marriage seems to be coming to an end. (However, neither party has filed for divorce for the time being.) The two released a first statement to E! News, the network that airs “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” with regularity, where they had the following to say:
“We are living separately and we are much happier this way. But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority.”
Meanwhile, Us Weekly claims that the two have actually been apart for the past year, and they featured a new statement from Kris where she reiterated almost everything that was said already:
“We ended a marriage, but that’s not the end of our friendship. I will always love him, but we are longer a couple in that way.”
This report also says that there are no plans to divorce right now.
While Bruce, a famed Olympic hero, and Kris were married long before the two became reality TV superstars, it was their daughter Kim Kardashian that first brought them into the spotlight with her infamous video. While Bruce has always kept a certain distance from the fame, Kris has fully embraced it as her family’s “momager,” and frequent defender of almost anything and everything that they do. She also tried out a syndicated talk show earlier this summer, and the word is still out on whether or not it will become a full-fledged series.
