Mrs. Carter: Clearly, love is in the air right now when it comes to stars of “Glee.”
Earlier this weekend, the news was really all about series star Naya Rivera (Santana), who made her engagement to Big Sean official finally after several months of dating. Given that the two have made countless red-carpet appearances together and even worked together on Naya’s debut single “Sorry,” it’s not much of a surprise at all that they are now getting set to head down the aisle. We can only imagine what kind of star-studded event that will be!
However, the other news that we have to share now comes after a little more of a low-key relationship, and so it may take you somewhat by surprise. Speaking to the Advocate this weekend, Dot-Marie Jones (who you may otherwise know as Coach Beiste) is engaged to her longtime girlfriend Bridgett Casteen. The two made it official while at Disneyland on Friday, which helps to further justify the moniker of “the happiest place on earth” for the place where dreams really do come true.
Here is what Dot specifically told to the publication about the big news:
“It’s the happiest day of my life. I never thought I’d find somebody that is so loving and kind.”
Dot has had an interesting journey to being where she is today on the show, having been a working actress for many years before landing a part on the show after a chance encounter with co-creator Ryan Murphy while at the grocery story of all places. The Coach Beiste role has since landed her multiple (well deserved) Emmy nominations, and has given her the opportunity to have some more breaks in her career.
