Mrs. Carter: Naya Rivera has a brand-new song to sing.
After six months of dating rapper Big Sean, E! News reports today that the couple is engaged. This is clearly big news for Rivera, and it also marks a pretty big development in the “Glee” family itself as the second engagement to rock the show recently. This follows up claims from earlier this year that Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Melissa Benoist (Marley) are also going to be tying the knot in the future. The only difference here? Naya is actually engaged to someone who is not a part of the show already.
Rivera and Big Sean actually first started to date as a result of an interaction on Twitter, which makes them one of the original big-name couples to have this come about via this social media site. It’s not as random as “iCarly” star Jennette McCurdy and NBA center Andre Drummond, but still pretty sweet nonetheless.
As you would imagine, there is no immediate word yet on wedding plans or anything of the like, but that makes sense given how busy the two are at the moment. Sean has been performing as of late around the country, while Naya is trying to balance her day job as Santana Lopez on “Glee” with what she is doing in her own music career. She recently unveiled her debut single “Sorry,” which actually features a rap verse from Sean in it.
On “Glee” right now, Santana is actually romancing someone new in Demi Lovato’s character of Dani. You first saw her during last night’s episode, and she will be back for five more before the end of the season.
