Scotty McCreery has stayed true to himself since winning the last season of ‘American Idol’ and he continues to write songs that reflect his life, so it was no surprise to anyone to hear that he also wanted his music videos to have the same feel.
McCreery headed back to his high school over the weekend to film his music video for his new single ‘The Trouble With Girls’. Scotty asked roughly 70 of his friends to head out to Garner High School yesterday to take part in the music video with him.
The singer and his friends were seen walking the hallways, studying in the science labs, and passing notes. Scotty talked about why it was important to keep his material about his life. He said “For me, it’s all about making it believable. Even the songs in my album – they’re about my life.”
The director of Scotty’s music video, Roman White, has also worked with Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Carrie Underwood. White says that the idea of McCreery’s music video taking place at his high school is perfect. He explained; “It’s kind of a high school story about boys and girls and first love – kind of innocent glances.”
McCreery posted a message about the music video shoot on his Twitter account, saying; “#thetroublewithgirls + garner high + best friends + baseball + football + goggles, chemistry explosions, and a great lab partner = #greatday. This will definitely be a special video!”
