Mrs. Carter: Talk about great timing.
On the same exact day that “The Big Bang Theory” season 7 premieres on CBS, the news hit the internet that one of its biggest stars is making a major move when it comes to her personal life. According to a report from Us Weekly that has since been confirmed, Ryan Sweeting and Kaley Cuoco are engaged! The two have only been dating for three months, but a source tells the publication that she already knows that he is the one for her. For those of you who are going to get on your soap boxes and preach that they are moving too fast… don’t bother. Some of the greatest relationships move quickly and everyone has their own speed that makes them comfortable. Besides, when you know… you know.
This is the second engagement for Kaley, who was previously with addiction specialist Josh Resnik before the two parties called it off early last year. Before this relationship, she was briefly attached to none other than “Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill. Kaley’s romantic history also includes a lengthy relationship with her co-star Johnny Galecki, but the two kept it a secret until after they split to not have it be a distraction on the TV show.
You cannot really say that the announcement here is any sort of stunt to raise “Big Bang Theory” ratings, since the show does not need any help at all in that department. It remains the most-popular program on CBS in adults 18-49, and is the top-rated and most-watched comedy on all television. The expectations are therefore high that the network will see big returns with the premiere, and for Kaley it’s pretty valuable. She and some of her other co-stars, including Jim Parsons and Galecki, are in negotiations right now on new contracts that could pay them more than half a million dollars an episode for future seasons.
Are you happy for Kaley? You’re going to be seeing more of her than usual this fall, as her sister is an upcoming contestant on “The Voice” this season.
