One of the major reasons that Twitter is so popular is because you can read what your favorite stars are up to and sometimes even chat with them on line.
With his success on ABC’s show ‘Castle’ and his cult following from his ‘Firefly’ days, it was shocking that Nathan Fillion took so long to get himself a Twitter account, so when he finally signed up, fans around the world let out a collective sigh.
His Twitter postings are just what his fans needed and so desperately wanted from him; they are funny, insightful and full of random photos. So why did Nathan finally decide to join the Twitterverse? It was because of his ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog’ co-star Felicia Day. Fillion explains;
“Twitter was forced on me by [Horrible co-star] Felicia Day already a Web celebrity herself. We were sitting at dinner and she had me download the Twitter application and sign up. Then she went on her Twitter and said, “OK, everyone, Nathan Fillion is now on Twitter.” I came home to 2,000 emails saying “You have a new follower on Twitter.” I turned off the email notifications after that.”
Fillion is almost at the 1 million followers mark and he says that when he finally reaches that goal he’s going to make a cake. He said;
“Thanks to Felicia Day, I got 2,000 followers immediately. I don’t know how it built up from there, but I do know that I’m getting close to a million. I think at a million, I’m gonna…make a cake — and tweet a picture of it.”
We’ll end this article with a random Tweet from Nathan since we love to read his posts; “Dear God, Orange and blue don’t really go well together- and, I’m trying to drive, so…”
