Maggie Gyllenhaal is the latest actor to jump on board the ‘Got Milk’ campaign for the American Dairy Council.
The new advertisements feature the ‘Dark Knight’ actress drinking a milky coffee encouraging coffee drinkers everywhere to pour a little milk or cream in their morning java.
It’s a pretty smart move for the dairy industry to target consumers that don’t drink straight glasses of milk and in this day and age where coffee addicts are in abundance, it makes more sense to target those buyers as opposed to just focusing only on the idea of milk being healthy for you. Even though the cost of milk is at an all time high, coffee drinkers will line up every day for their specialty beverages at their local coffee houses and their drinks usually contain some milk or cream.
Maggie spoke out about how milk plays a pretty significant role in her family’s life. She said; “My husband really drinks a lot of milk – he just drinks a big, full glass of milk. For me, I really like milk in my coffee. My daughter and my husband are milk crazy and they drink milk all the time. They’re milk people, so we go through milk really, really, really quickly in my house!”
As for Gyllenhaal, she says she’s not much of a straight milk drinker but that she says that does put milk in her coffee and that helps her get the nutrients that milk provides.
The tagline for the advertisement says; “Ooh La Latte. Start your day with something delicious and nutritious. Surprise. The milk in your morning latte provides essential nutrients most of us are missing. ‘C’est magnifique!'”
