It was actually a plan drawn up by Hitler and members of his inner circle to maintain control should the Germany become unstable. After looking up on Google (a fine resource, btw) revealed that the July 20th resistance fighters modified the plan to include a possible coup d’État by members of the S.S.

In nutshell, the plan had to do with a plan to maintain order and take control.

Castle may like to play around in crazy mythos, but Norse Mythology? That wasn’t even my first thought.

It’s most likely a code name given to a person or an operation and less likely refers to female figures who escort the dead to Valhalla and chose which warriors will die in battle.
