When the news came out that four of the cast members from the ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ were up on the chopping block, some of the cast remained quiet while others tried to say that it wasn’t true.
Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon, Alex McCord and Cindy Barshop were all said to be handed their pink slips earlier this week, but Zarin said that it wasn’t true and that she was still in negotiations with Bravo over her contract.
Bravo has now made it official releasing a statement about the firings, but didn’t mention any of the cast members that are not returning to the show by name. The network instead said called them “the ladies” and said that while they have been fired, it’s possible they might have dealings with them in the future. The statement from Bravo said;
“Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and LuAnn De Lesseps will be returning for season five of The Real Housewives of New York City. We’ve had a fabulous run with all the ladies and appreciate them sharing their lives with our viewers. It is a friendly departure among the other ladies and we continue to have on-going discussions with them.”
Reports have said that Bravo has already hired three new women to become part of the cast for the upcoming season.
